Paulina Bednarz
I am a teaching assistant in the department of management. I was awarded an M.A. in sociology summa cum Laude at Warsaw University and I am currently a Ph.D. candidate at Berlin Graduate School of Social Science at Humboldt Universitaet zu Berlin. I was granted two-year scholarship for my doctoral studies by the KAAD Foundation (Katholischer Akademischer Auslaender-Dienst). My Ph.D. deals with the issue of work-life balance of professional working mothers in Poland and Germany and is based on qualitative, in-depth life-course interviews. Apart from two year stay in Berlin, my international experience includes research stays at Institute for Human Sciences in Vienna (6 months in 2004) and at Families and Work Institute in New York City (6 months in 2007). My scholarly interests include issues of broadly defined organizational culture, qualitative studies, and work-life management.
