I graduated with an MA from Institute of Sociology at the University of Warsaw (summa cum laude). Currently I run a project titled “Organizational means of dealing with the tension between gift economy and market logic” (funded by the Polish National Science Centre) in which I study hospitality exchange networks, most of all Couchsurfing. More generally, my research evolves around the so-called sharing economy: I employ various theoretical and methodological frameworks for studying organizing processes on the verge of online and offline, as well as macro and micro levels of the economy. My interests lie in narrative and biographical research, critical and interpretive organization studies, economic anthropology/sociology, and social memory studies. Apart from that I am a collaborator of International Sociological Assotiation and contribute to the Polish translations of Global Dialogue, ISA’s quarterly magazine.
