Dariusz Jemielniak
I am (full) professor of management. I head the Center for Research on Organizations and Workplaces at Kozminski University.
My interests evolve around critical management studies, open collaboration projects (such as Wikipedia or FLOSS), narrativity, storytelling, knowledge-intensive organizations, virtual communities, organizational archetypes, all studied by interpretive and qualitative methods.
2000-2004 I was a Ph.D. candidate in management at Kozminski University. 2004-2005 I spent as a Fulbright scholar at Cornell University. 2005-2009 I was an assistant professor of management back at Kozminski University, with a break to go for two semesters as a visiting scholar to Harvard University (2007) and University of California, Berkeley (2008). In 2009 I defended my habilitation and became an associate professor of management. 2011-2012 I spent at Harvard Law School, doing a project on lawyers’ workplace enactment, as well as Wikipedic organizational culture. My book on Wikipedia, the first ethnographic analysis of this open collaboration movement, appeared in 2014 at Stanford University Press. In 2014 the President of the Republic of Poland appointed me full professor (which in Poland is a title for life).
